DP World & DNATA, keynote speakers at NAFL Open Forum - 19.05.2011
The National Association of Freight & Logistics recently held its regular Open Forum at the NAFL HQ in Dubai, with DP World and DNATA as keynote speakers. The Open Forum was hosted by Executive Board Member and Forum Chairman Ashok Thomas of FedEx Trade Networks, while the update on NAFL activities, such as the interactive website and the ongoing course enrollment at the NAFL Training Institute, were presented by Executive Board Member David Phillips of Freight Systems. The highlight of the forum was the discussion with DP World, represented by Assistant Manager for Customer Service Kamel Al Derawy; and DNATA, represented by NAFL Board Member Kevin Ennis, Vice President for Cargo Business Development. DNATA presented the latest updates and long-term plans of Dubai World Central; while DP World discussed the advantages of the E-token, a gate booking system for Traders and Transporters who transport containers to and from Jebel Ali Port. “We are very happy to have been invited here and address the NAFL members on their concerns and comments regarding the latest initiative of DP World, which is the E-token. We will definitely come back for the next Open Forum when NAFL invites us again,” Kamel related. David, on the other hand, expressed his gratitude for the speakers, as well as his pleasure in seeing a significant attendance of the NAFL members. “The Executive Board established the Open Forum to serve as the platform for discussing and resolving issues. I am very glad that more members have come to participate and thankful to our guests for the educational presentations, as well as taking time to note and provide resolutions for the concerns of our freight forwarding community,” he concluded.
