UPS quarterly profit up 66pc - 29.04.2011

US global package delivery company United Parcel Service (UPS) has reported a first quarter year-on-year net profit increase of 66 per cent to US$885 million, drawn on revenues of $12.58 billion, the Shipping Gazette informs.

Domestic trade was up 6.2 per cent and international volume increased 9.9 per cent. Supply chain and freight revenue was up 7.6 per cent to $2.14 billion, reported American Shipper, adding that UPS Freight revenue showed robust increase of 23 per cent.
