The Grimaldi Group was recognized by General Motors as a 2010 world class global automotive Supplier of the Year for its significant contributions as part of the company’s global product and performance achievements.

Costantino Baldissara, Commercial and Logistics director of the Grimaldi Group, was handed the award during the 19th annual awards presentation ceremony, held on the 10th of March at the GM Renaissance Center in Detroit (Michigan).

“We believe the Supplier of the Year Award is a top honour in the industry”, said Bob Socia, GM vice president, Global Purchasing and Supply Chain. “These suppliers are a critical part of our effort to design, build and sell the world’s best vehicles”.

“We are very honoured to receive this prestigious award for the tenth time in the last eleven years” said Emanuele Grimaldi, Managing Director of the Grimaldi Group. “Our mission is to further increase our efforts in order to offer top quality logistics services to General Motors, contributing to the achievement of excellence by GM” concluded Mr. Grimaldi.

The 82 Supplier of the Year winners for 2010 were chosen among 20,000 suppliers, and represent the best the automotive industry offers in four keys areas: Innovative technology, Superior quality, Outstanding launch support, Competitive total enterprise cost solutions.

The GM Supplier of the Year award began as a global program in 1992 and recognizes the significant contributions of General Motors’ suppliers as part of the company’s global product and performance achievements.

General Motors and Grimaldi are business partners since 35 years: the Group supplies logistics services for the transport of vehicles produced by the Detroit-based car manufacturer between North Europe, Mediterranean, West Africa, North and South America.
