Fast work by GAC Logistics staff helped get a replica high performance race car on show for a UK trade delegation visit to the state-of-the-art Williams Technology Centre in Qatar.

A special plinth to show off the sleek lines of the full-size AT&T Williams show car and special equipment to lift it into place were needed in Qatar for the visit by Trade & Investment Minister Lord Green and senior executives from some of Britain’s leading companies. And GAC Logistics at Heathrow had just hours to collect it from the AT&T Williams factory in Grove, Oxfordshire, pack it up and send it on its way.

The shipment was a key component in the centre’s display of an advanced vehicle simulator development platform that Williams Technology Centre engineers are using to develop solutions for other motorsport classes, regular road users, emergency services and commercial fleet driver training and certification markets in Qatar and abroad.

Williams F1 founder and team Principal, Frank Williams, who welcomed the delegation, was in Qatar joining UK Prime Minister David Cameron and Lord Green for a series of meetings and visits aimed at strengthening links between the two countries.

Frank Williams said:

Alan Newton, Freight Manager at GAC’s London office added:

“The successful delivery of the kit to Doha was the latest in a series of time-sensitive and critically urgent jobs performed by GAC for our partner, AT&T Williams.”
