To plan for the next 5-10 years' development, China government has launched the two key research projects, namely new generation ITS development strategic research and tactical research of using internet of things to promote modern transport. Meanwhile, ITS will occupy a crucial part in the upcoming transportation planning of the 12th Five Year (2011-2015) Plan. It is revealed that according to the drafting of the 12th Five-Year Plan, China will realize the traffic perception and supervisory control in its national highways, regional roads, key road sections, large-scale bridges and vehicle areas, etc, will implement an overall monitoring of dangerous goods transportation by vehicles, boats and ships in long distance and in urban transit, will build in the main an omnibearing and all-weather operating fast-reaction water traffic safety monitoring system and maritime information system. It is estimated that the national investment of ITS in the next 3 years will exceed 150 million Yuan, which to inspire relevant enterprises' passion to join in the ITS industrial boost.
