Grand China Shipping to offer two transpacific services - 18.05.2011

Two Grand China Shipping (GCS) transpacific services are expected to commence following the split of the existing Super Pacific Express (SPX) service into two. One of them is the Pearl River Delta-Pacific Express (PPX) service.

The new SPX, that focuses on Central China and Korea, will have the following rotation: Ningbo, Shanghai, Busan, Long Beach, Oakland and back to Ningbo with the first sailing of the 2,700-TEU Red Strength from Ningbo on May 17, according to Exim News Service.

The PPX, that focuses on South China, will have the following rotation: Xiamen, Hong Kong, Shenzhen-Yantian, Long Beach, Oakland, Xiamen, and commences with the sailing from Xiamen of the 2,564-TEU City of Xiamen on May 26.

Connections will continue to be offered with other Chinese ports and with the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam using GCS’ own feeder network.

The split in service now allows additional calls at Xiamen, Busan and Oakland, while transit time from Hong Kong-Yantian to Long Beach is cut by three days.
