Wan Hai, Evergreen and Interasia to commence TMT service - 27.04.2011
Wan Hai, Evergreen Line and Interasia Lines have announced the launch of the weekly Taiwan-Madras Trunk (TMT) service commencing April 29 from the port of Taichung, according to Exim News Service. "India enjoys an annual economic growth rate of 8-9 per cent, with the cargo volume increasing from the Far East to India each year," said a spokesperson for the three carriers. "As the main gate for east India, Chennai has a bright future," the spokesperson added. It will also be the first time that Evergreen Line calls at a port on the east coast. The 28-day route is as follows: Taichung, Keelung, Hong Kong, Hong Kong (midstream), Nansha, Shekou, Port Klang, Chennai (CCT), Penang, Port Klang, Singapore, Yantian, Hong Kong, Taichung. Wan Hai will deploy two vessels, and Evergreen and Interasia one each of 1,300-TEU capacity on the service. The first sailing will be of Interasia Lines’ Karin Schulte.
