On March 11th the World was shocked by a disaster of such a magnitude and impact for the people of Japan which since that time only worsened with the nuclear plant incidents following the next days.

KOTUG has long lasting business relationships with many Japanese Shipping Lines and manufacturers and have decided to start a donation fund to support the recovery effort in the wake of the devastating earthquake and tsunami on 11th March.

In the month of April KOTUG donates Euro 5,- per tug assistance in the ports of Rotterdam, Bremerhaven and Hamburg to the Japanese Red Cross. Donations to the Red Cross will be used to provide emergency relief, equipment and assistance to affected communities and families in Japan. KOTUG hopes that in this way they can contribute to support Japan in its hour of need and to help the Japanese nation get back on its feet after one of the worst tragedies the country has ever endured.
