Bulgarian state railways BDZ will add 87 additional trains during the Easter holidays in order to facilitate the anticipated excessive demand, the company said on April 19 2011.

More than 8000 extra seats will be made available for the period April 21–25 on the busiest routes, the statement said, especially ones linking Sofia with the coast.

Special trains designated as "Bourgas Weekend" and "Varna Weekend" will be running on April 21 and 24, though the company emphasised that those would operate exclusively with reservations.

Furthermore, 38 other express inter-city trains and 49 other "fast trains" would be made available to other destinations.
