A railway service will connect Petrolesport and Yanino - 01.04.2011
Petrolesport OJSC and Yanino Logistics Park LLC (a Global Ports group companies, Russia) have set up a regular railway service between the terminals in partnership with Firm Transgarant LLC (a FESCO group company). For the moment the container train will make trips twice a week, in future the number of trips will increase. The new service will provide a direct technological connection with the sea terminal in Bolshoy Port in St. Petersburg and logistics park in Leningrad region. Earlier container delivery from Petrolesport container terminal to Yanino was based on the truck haul. The launch of regular train service opens additional options for company’s clients giving the opportunity of mass dispatch of cargo with guaranteed transportation terms within one logistic chain. Test deliveries on route “Petrolesport-Yanino” were launched at the beginning of February. The container train set is formed of 31 long-base container platforms (property of Firm Transgarant LLC). The train can transport from 55 to 62 large-capacity containers in different combinations at a time. The train’s trip time is 3 hours. According to the forecasts unidirectional transportation volume will reach 660 containers in the first month of regular deliveries. Train operators are Yanino Logistics Park LLC and PortTransService LLC. Yanino Logistics Park constructed in 2010 provides a full complex of operations with containers. Infrastructure and technical equipment of the terminal provide rapid train dispatch from the own railway lines. All stocks of complex are directly connected with the railway. There is a container depot in the terminal with simultaneous capacity of 12 000 TEU equipped with reach stackers for container handling. Development of regular container train delivery service is an important direction of joint work of Petrolesport OJSC and Yanino Logistics Park LLC. In 2010 there was organized train running on route “Petrolesport – Rhenus-Yuzhny port – Petrolesport” in co-operation with Maxx Intermodal Systems shipping companies, Marinus group of companies and Rhenus-Yuzhny port container terminal in Moscow with support of FESCO group rail companies. Within development of this project setting up of communication between Yanino Logistics Park and Rhenus-Yuzhny port terminal is planned. Such deliveries were carried out in March. In 2011 service was set up on route “Petrolesport – Moskva Tovarnaya” in co-operation with Silmar SPb company with support of TransContainer OJSC. A possibility of launching the regular train between Petrolesport and Kaluga station (Moscow Railways) is considered together with Transgarant company.
