The Visakhapatnam Port has created an all-time record in unloading ammonium nitrate in bulk in a day, according to Exim News Service.
According to a press release issued by the Visakhapatnam Port Trust (VPT), a quantity of 8,550 tonnes with a gang hook output of 713 tonnes of ammonium nitrate in bulk was discharged in a day on April 16 from the vessel m.v. Jon Jin-2 at EQ-7 berth, surpassing the previous best discharge of 8,324 tonnes with a gang hook output of 694 tonnes set on April 28, 2010 from the same vessel.
The cargo was imported by Solar Industries India Ltd, Andhra Pradesh and Indian Explosives Pvt. Ltd, West Bengal.
Integral Trading & Logistics and Sravan Shipping Services Pvt. Ltd were the stevedores while K. Ramabrahmam & Sons Pvt. Ltd was the steamer agent for the vessel.
